Almost 30 years ago, when we were filming
"A Polish Vampire in Burbank," I hired a young Italian actor to play a
small part as a bar patron who throws Eddie Deezen out of the
place. The actor's name was Rik Martino, who didn't speak much
english, and he was thrilled to have a moment on screen which barely
lasted one minute. Well I lost touch with this actor until a few
months ago, when he contacted me and asked if I would shoot some
'scenes' of him portraying a mafia hit man for a feature film that
doesn't exist, but he hopes one day will. I agreed to meet him in
Silverlake, where he lives, and spend a day or two shooting these
scenes. What I found fascinating about Rik was not so much his
acting prowess, but what he did between shooting. He would go to
a pet food store and buy ten pound bags of bird seed and then go to
several locations around Silverlake and feed pigeons that were waiting
for him. After seeing him do this for a couple of days, I
suggested that in addition to shooting his little hit man footage, I
would like to follow him around and film him on his daily routine of
feeding the birds. At first, he was a bit reluctant, but
ultimately agreed. I followed up the filming with a sit down
session where I interviewed him about this lifestyle. I found out
that this was his life for about 30 years. I have to admit, this
is one of the most fascinating people I've ever met. You can see

We've been getting some good responses to
our newest Submissive
Jesus
commercial, which we shot two months ago. We'd like to shoot
some more, but it's tough to come up with ideas worthy of the
product. If you have any practical and yet funny ideas for future
commercials, let us know.
You can see the latest Sub Jesus as by

Dennis Kinard,
surrounded by a gaggle of hotties, reprises his "God Complex" role of
lord and savior
for our newest Submissive Jesus commercial. You may also
recognize Lauren Baldwin on the left, who played the Virgin Mary in
"The God Complex." She looks a little less virginal in this
project.

our previous Submissive Jesus commercials by clicking here.
OLD NEWS
We posted footage from the August 2009 "God Complex" premiere.
As you can see, it was a great night for us all.
We've been selling a reasonable number of "The God Complex," DVDs
and to those of you who have purchased them, I'd
like to say thanks. It's your support that keeps us going, and
inspires me to continue. After dealing with a plethora of
disreputable distributors over the years, this is the first film I have
decided to self-distribute, and thanks to many of you, the sales are
steady. This is also the first film of mine that has had solid
internet marketing, which has changed the way we truly independents can
promote and sell films. I am also cross-marketing the movie with
the Submissive Jesus toy (there is a promotional card for the toy in
every DVD box, and a promotional card for the movie in the Submissive
Jesus box). Anyway, I just wanted to acknowledge my gratitude for
your support.
See you next month
