"The God Complex" Screening date set for Burbank
International Film Festival
Not
much to say this month. I finally got the information regarding
the screening for "The God Complex" at the Burbank International Film
Festival. The film will screen on September 15th at 3pm (not
exactly prime time) at the AMC Burbank Town Center 6, which is located
at 770 North 1st St. Burbank, Ca. 91501. It's my understanding
that they will run a couple of short subjects along with the
movie. Tickets are $12. I'm sorry to say that they are not
offering any comps. If you are interested in attending, you can
purchase tickets by going to the Burbank
International
Film Festival Website. I am trying to get them
to run the movie in high definition, but they don't seem to be set up
for that. The best they can offer is to run it off of a Bluray
disk. Unfortunately however, I don't have this thing on a Bluray
disk. It would be so simple to run it off a portable hard drive
and a laptop, which is what we did for the premiere, but they don't
want to deal with the trouble (plus they tell me the projectionist
unions have some issues with that as well), so I guess the movie will
be run in good old standard def.
Mark Pirro
Autograph SigningSpeaking of premieres, would you believe that it's been one year since we premiered "The God Complex" at Raleigh Studios? Where did the year go?? I mean, I'm aware that time is speeding by, but this is ridiculous. And speaking of "The God Complex," they say that everyon had a double. Well, I stumbled across a commercial circulating around on the Internet with an actor who is a dead ringer for the star of our film, Gust Alexander. I swear, this man who plays the viking in this ad could be his twin brother. When I first saw it, I thought it was Gust. I called him to ask about it and he said it wasn't him, but he told me that he had gotten a lot of congratulatory calls. Click on the image below and prepare to be astounded. I was invited to do a DVD signing at a Van Nuys video store called Spudic's Movie Empire. I've never done one before. It was a very pleasant afternoon getting to meet some of the Pirromount fans up close and personal. Even 80's Pirromount actress Darwyn Carson surprised us all and showed up at the end of the day. ![]() ![]() ![]() YET ANOTHER "GOD
COMPLEX" REVIEW
We've received yet another favorable review for our film, "The God Complex." Check out the newest one from buried.com. This appears to be a horror movie review site. How "The God Complex" qualifies as a horror film is beyond me, but there it is. Of course, The God Complex is based on the Bible, and the Bible is a horrible story book, so I guess it makes sense after all. Remastered
COLOR-BLINDED
and
CURSE OF THE QUEERWOLF DVDS available
![]() We've remastered two of our
early films: Curse of the Queerwolf (1988) and Color-Blinded
(1998). Not only do these two films look better than they did on
their initial releases, but I've added optional director commentary
tracks to both films. Queerwolf has me talking with Pirromount
actor, Patrick Hunter; and Color-Blinded has me and star Dani Leon
commenting throughout. If you haven't ever gotten your DVDs of
these two vintage Pirromount films, now's the best time. You can
order them from our Pirrophernalia page.
