OUR FIRST REVIEW IS IN

WORLD  PREMIERE
 August 29, 2009

A full house enjoys Pirromount's leap into the Biblical mythology of "The God Complex."

I never thought there would ever be a night in my life that would rival the 2003 premiere of our film Rectuma, but our August 29th world premiere of The God Complex seems to have achieved just that task.   After the movie, we spent about 15 minutes introducing the cast and crew.  And as it was with Rectuma at the AFI in 2003, and Color-Blinded at Universal Studios in 1998, for that one evening, they were all stars.

Above: The wonderful cast of The God Complex gets their deserved recognition.

Left: Filmmaker Pirro and longtime friend and actor, John McCafferty   Right:  With Ron Curtiss.  Both McCafferty and Curtiss have worked in Pirro's films since he was producing shorts in 1978.

Pirro welcomes the lovely Lauren Baldwin (Virgin Mary) to the stage.

: Jed Rowen and Kim Thomassen, who play God's assassins   Right: Pirro with co-writer Andy, and Mary Moorfield (Eve).  Could I possibly look any more retarded?

After the movie, everyone went downstairs for a reception.  There were enough turkey rolls to stuff an ark, croissant sandwiches, potato salad (courtesy of of the lovely Peggy Kerner), cheese and cracker trays (from the original Poopeedoo, Suzanna Griffith), and about 300 sweet Jesus candy bars (each one individually wrapped by Pirro himself.  Ok, actor Ron Curtiss wrapped a few - the ones he didn't eat already).

Everyone had the best things to say about the movie (ok, nobody is going to say a movie is shit at a premiere, even if it is, unless they're a complete jerk!), and some of them suggested we try getting this on late night at Comedy Central.  I suppose anything is possible with God.  Only time and talking to our ceilings will tell.

Pirro, with one of his favorite Submissive Jesus gals, Lauren Joy.

We had a Pirrophernalia table set up, selling Submissive Jesus Prayer Answering Talking Heads, DVDs of many early Pirromount films, posters, refrigerator magnets, autographs, etc, basically to offset the cost of the night.  The great irony is that our premieres always cost us more than the production of the films themselves.  This night was no different.

Nothing like a little merchandising to offset the costs.  Pirromount actor Damon Evans takes on the role of salesman as he mans the Pirrophernalia table, loaded with Pirromount merchandise from films past and present, including The Submissive Jesus Prayer Answering Talking Head, featured in The God Complex
