In 1986, Five people in the Pirromount Stable entered into a wager that Mark Pirro would be the first to get married. The bet involved Pirro, Special effects wiz Glenn Campbell, Writer Alan Gries, Actor John McCafferty, and Cinematographer Craig Bassuk. The agreement was that the first person who gets married must pay the other four members of the bet $500 apiece (eventually raised to $1000). This bet was in full force for 12 years until 1998, when Bassuk had "secretly" gotten married. It was discovered a few months later. When confronted, Mr. Bassuk shrugged it off, with no intention of paying off the bet that we had all made in good faith. Because of this, Bassuk will forever wear the label of Welsher. We know this has nothing to do with filmmaking, but here at Pirromount we like to keep an open book of who's honorable and who isn't. What fun would a website be without that? Tell us your stories about people who have welshed on you. We will publish them here on our website. Return to past productions page
